Our Approach
At Steady Mind Counselling, we provide virtual and in-person counselling for individuals and couples in Dartmouth, Halifax, and across Nova Scotia. Therapy is a space to slow down, feel heard, and better understand the patterns, emotions, and stressors affecting your life and relationships.
When emotions run high or communication feels stuck, it can be difficult to respond in the way you want to. Together, we work to bring greater clarity, steadiness, and understanding to what is happening beneath the surface — including anxiety, stress, conflict, self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, and relationship challenges.
For individuals, counselling may focus on anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, emotional regulation, or feeling disconnected from yourself or others. Sessions are collaborative, supportive, and focused on helping you build practical tools, confidence, and self-awareness.
For couples, we focus on improving communication, understanding patterns of conflict, rebuilding emotional safety, and strengthening emotional connection. Drawing from evidence-based approaches such as the Gottman Method, couples counselling balances insight with practical strategies that support healthier communication and lasting change outside of sessions.
