Counselling Careers at Steady Mind Counselling
Build a counselling practice where good therapy comes first.
Steady Mind Counselling is growing, and we’re interested in connecting with counsellors who want to do meaningful work while having the freedom to practice in a way that feels authentic to them.
We’re building something intentionally different — a counselling practice that is warm, collaborative, grounded, and human.
If you’re a counsellor who values genuine connection with clients, thoughtful clinical work, and having a voice in how you practice, we’d love to hear from you.
What We Value
🌿 Client-centered care
Clients aren't problems to be fixed. We believe counselling works best when clients feel heard, respected, and involved in the process.
🤝 Collaboration
We're building a practice where counsellors can learn from one another, share ideas, and feel supported without feeling micromanaged.
🧭 Autonomy
You’re the clinician. We want counsellors to have room to develop their own therapeutic style, work with the populations they enjoy, and practice within their areas of competence.
💬 Authenticity
Counselling doesn't have to feel overly clinical or formal. We value practitioners who bring warmth, curiosity, humility, and genuine human connection into their work.
⚖️ Sustainable practice
A good counselling practice should work for the counsellor, too. We're interested in creating an environment that supports healthy boundaries, flexibility, and a sustainable workload.
What You Can Expect
Flexible scheduling
Build a schedule that fits your life and availability.
In-person and virtual options
Access to counselling spaces in HRM alongside virtual counselling opportunities.
Practice support
Administrative and practice infrastructure designed to reduce some of the work that happens behind the scenes.
Professional autonomy
Maintain your own clinical identity and approach.
A collaborative environment
Be part of a growing practice where clinicians can connect, share ideas, and support one another.
Opportunities to grow
As the practice develops, there may be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities or contribute to the development of the practice.
Who We're Looking For
We’re interested in hearing from counsellors who are:
Registered or eligible for registration with an appropriate professional body
Practising within their scope of competence
Comfortable working independently
Warm, approachable, and client-focused
Committed to ethical and professional practice
Interested in building a sustainable counselling practice
